Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How long does it last?
A: Over 12 months / 25,000 km under normal conditions (Outperformed all other ceramic coatings tested in long-term wet and dry testing).

Q: How should I store the product after use? What is its shelf life once opened?
A: Store above 5°C and below 35°C. Frost sensitive.

Q: Can I apply multiple coats?
A: One coat is sufficient. Two or more coats enhance the protective effect.

Q: Can I apply additional sealant/wax on top?
A: Yes, we recommend using Geist Dye & Friction Blocker for maintenance purposes.

Q: How long does it take for the product to dry/cure?
A: Being a water-based product, the vehicle can be used once the coating has dried and the surface is dry to the touch. The coating takes 48 hours to reach full strength.

Q: How do you maintain a vehicle coated with this product?
A: We recommend using Geist Quick Leather Cleaner followed by Geist Dye & Friction Blocker (available together in the Geist 3 Minute Care Kit). For very light cleaning, you can also use Geist Surface & Screen Cleaner.

Q: Can it be removed?
A: Yes, if necessary (for example, if a surface needs to be repaired), clean thoroughly with Geist Quick Cleaner PRO and brush (twice) to remove the coating.

Q: Is it a breathable coating? Why? How?
A: Yes, microscopic images show that even the smallest pores remain open. The flexible micropolymer allows air and moisture to penetrate the surface.

Q: How and where do other products fit in?
A: Most protected automotive leathers require occasional light cleaning for hygiene reasons. Perspiration, contamination, and spills (sugar, grease) can be easily removed with Geist Rapid Cleaner.

Q: What if there are still stains?
A: If stains penetrate, Geist Repel makes them easy to remove. For example, Geist Dye and Ink Remover is a solvent-free product that removes many colored stains without damaging the surface.

Q: Will it yellow white seats?
A: No, Geist. Repel is stable even in intense sunlight, as it contains an effective UV filter.

Instructions:

  • Make sure the surface is clean and dry. Test on an inconspicuous area before use.
  • Spray a small amount of product onto the included applicator and apply evenly to the surface using circular motions. Make sure to cover the entire seat, especially in high-traffic areas. Let air dry for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, use a microfiber cloth to gently buff until you achieve a smooth, matte finish.
  • If necessary, repeat the application to ensure adequate and even coverage. Two thin coats are usually better than one thick one.
  • If streaks appear after drying, lightly moisten the applicator with the product again, apply a thin layer to the affected area, and buff immediately.
  • Faux leather (e.g., vegan leather): The product may appear uneven at first before drying, but light polishing after drying will smooth it out and make it even.
